Buying your first home is exciting, but there's a lot to navigate along the way. From understanding financing options to negotiating the purchase, having someone experienced in your corner who knows how to guide the process can make a significant difference.
When Ashley and Zach reached out to me, they had already started their home search with another agent. Things hadn't gone quite as they'd hoped, and they were looking for a fresh start.
I've always enjoyed working with first-time homebuyers. There's something special about helping someone purchase their first home, and I know how important it is to have someone who will take the time to explain things, answer questions, and look out for their best interests.
Once I understood what they were looking for, we got to work. We found a home they loved in the Atlanta area, but finding the right property was only part of the equation.
The Purchase Price Is Only Part of the Negotiation
We were able to negotiate a purchase price below asking, along with seller-paid concessions that allowed Ashley and Zach to buy down their mortgage interest rate.
That's a big deal, particularly for first-time buyers.
I often remind my buyers that there's more to a successful negotiation than simply getting a lower purchase price. How we structure an offer, negotiate concessions, and evaluate financing options can have a meaningful impact on the overall cost of homeownership.
In this case, we were able to accomplish both: a lower purchase price and more favorable financing terms.
A First Home and a Fresh Start
One of the best parts of this transaction was hearing how Ashley and Zach felt about their experience.
Ashley shared:
"Wendy was wonderful to work with throughout the entire home-buying process! She was responsive, helpful, and always willing to answer questions or help with anything that came up along the way. She made such a big process feel much more manageable, and I'm so grateful for all of her help getting us into our new home."
And Zach added:
"This was our first experience buying a home and Wendy made the process so easy and enjoyable! Highly recommend!"
I love hearing that they felt comfortable and supported throughout the process. Buying your first home comes with plenty of questions, and that's what I'm here for.
Thinking About Buying Your First Home in Atlanta?
Whether you're just starting to explore the market or you've been searching for a while, I'd love to help you understand your options.
There are opportunities worth exploring beyond the asking price, including seller concessions, mortgage rate buydowns, and offer terms that can make a purchase more affordable.
I work with buyers throughout Alpharetta, Milton, Canton, Roswell, and North Atlanta, and my goal is always the same to help you make informed decisions and feel good about the home you're buying.
If you’re curious what your home may be worth in today’s market, I’d love to be a resource.
