Alpharetta and Milton Recognized Among a 2026 List of America’s Best Suburbs
Those of us who live and work in North Fulton already know what makes this area special. But it’s always wonderful to see our communities receive national attention.
A recently circulated 2026 “25 Best Suburbs in America” ranking places Alpharetta at No. 9 and Milton at No. 19—making them the only two Georgia communities shown among the 25 on the list.
For those of us fortunate enough to call this area home, the recognition comes as little surprise.
While Alpharetta and Milton sit side by side, each offers its own distinctive lifestyle—and together they create one of the most desirable areas to live in North Fulton.
Alpharetta: A City With Energy, Charm and Connection
Alpharetta has evolved tremendously over the years while managing to retain the sense of community that has always made it special.
Downtown Alpharetta has become a destination in its own right, with locally loved restaurants, boutiques, green spaces and an ever-changing calendar of events. Nearby Avalon adds another layer of shopping, dining and entertainment, while established neighborhoods and newer communities offer buyers an impressive variety of homes and lifestyles.
One of Alpharetta’s greatest appeals is how easy it is to make everyday life feel like an experience. Dinner downtown, a Saturday morning farmers market, an outdoor concert or an evening stroll can all be part of an ordinary weekend.
Milton: Space, Beauty and a Distinctive Sense of Place
Just minutes away, Milton offers something entirely different.
Its winding roads, equestrian properties, generous homesites and preserved green spaces create a setting that can feel remarkably removed from the city—while still providing convenient access to Alpharetta and the greater Atlanta area.
The Crabapple district has become a wonderful gathering place for the community, combining historic character with restaurants, businesses and neighborhood events.
Milton has grown, but maintaining its distinctive character remains an important part of what makes the city so appealing.
